FTP Access
Silicon Computers utilizes SFTP or SCP transfer protocols (Secure FTP or Secure Copy) to ensure your files get to and from us securely. You may use just about any SFTP client to access our network. We recommend one of the following.
- WinSCP for Windows
- Transmit4 for Mac
- Command line tools suchs as sftp and scp in unix.
If you are FTP’ing to a domain you have hosted here, you simply need to point the client to www.yourdomain.com to access your site. You do NOT need to post these files in a public_html directory. Simply place the files the root directory you are logged into.
Shell Access
- PuTTY
- SecureCRT (PC)
- Terminal – Default SSH client in Max OS X
Please note that shell accounts are provided to users on an “as-needed” basis.
